William Webb
William Webb, born in 1780, was a British oil painter specializing in equestrian and canine portraits, with a few nautical landscapes. His muted colors and calm landscapes depicted many sporting scenes with horses and hunting dogs. Some of these animal subjects are of posed animals as if they were a commission for a customer. Webb also painted nautical landscapes, many of them turbulent in nature.
In 1795, Webb appears to be a watch apprentice in Staffordshire, England and that he had a trade as a watchmaker as of 1810. There is little other information on this artist besides his death in 1846.
