Lilian Cheviot was a British painter in the late 19th century who specialized in animal portraits an emphasis on dogs and cats. Born in 1884, Cheviot’s birth place is unknown, but she lived in Surry, Kensington and Molesey, England throughout her life.
She studied at Frank Caldron’s School of Animal Painting and Walter Donne's Life School and is best known for her lifelike precision of her paintings of dogs as well as cats and horses. She also enjoyed creating landscape scenes of animals and established a hearty patronage of enthusiasts. She exhibited in the Royal Academy of Arts in 1895 for four years. In 1932, Lilan Cheviot passed away at the age of 48.
